Tapah is a small town at the foothills of Cameron Highlands and also an important entry point for many visitors from Kuala Lumpur and Singapore (southern destinations). A major trunk road starts from Tapah that leads to the first township of Ringlet at about 45km away. Visitors often stop by by food at its restaurants before continuing their journey up.
Some may do some light shopping at its many colonial shophouses for fruits, vegetables or biscuits. Attractions of interest near Tapah include Lata Kinjang waterfall 18km away in Chenderiang and Kuala Woh Hot Spring about 7km away along the Cameron Highlands route.
