Cameron Highlands has easily the largest and most extensive network of townships to be found among the highland destinations of Malaysia. A total of nine major towns and villages stretch for 37km along a major trunk road that starts from Ringlet, passing by or through Habu, Bertam Valley, Tanah Rata, Brinchang, Tringkap and Kuala Terla before ending at Kampung Raja.
This is where the road then splits into a highway leading to Simpang Pulai at left and Gua Musang at right. Each town and village has its own cultural identity and attractions, though some may not have any intrinsic tourist appeal. The most popular towns for visitors are Tanah Rata and Brinchang.
